BCPM = biology, chem, physics, math

ALL math is included, whether advanced calculus or trigonometric or matrices. ANY type of math is included. stats is math.

Stats can be taken in the department of psychology or sociology.

This course would NOT be considered.

How do they know what is what? At my undergrad there were two intro to stats courses: one through the Math dept, and one through the School of Business. They had they same IDs except for a one digit difference, i.e. STA2020 and STA2021. Same deal with Calc. Does AMCAS have a list of courses and their reference numbers from all undergrad institutions?

I took stats listed under the psychology department. As the AMCAS instructions listed "statistics" under Math, I categorized it as math. They did not change it, and it did count towards my BCPM.

That really depends on how you fill out your application. If you put it under math, it will be considered as math. If you put it under psychology, it won't be considered as math. You can see how you can use this either way to your advantage, depending on how you did.
