Which RF machine to choose

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
lease for 6 months with option to purchase -

if you do more than 1 RF per week then you will pay machine off within one year or so

but first do what i did

have each rep come with a trial unit and schedule 5-10 RFs in one day - they bring all the probes and all the needles and the machine --- tell them that you liked it a lot but you are trying to decide between their machine and XYZ company...

then rotate through the reps until you find the one you like the most (personally i chose neurotherm)

I basically got about 40 RFs done for free by the time i was ready to sign any paperwork...

if only i could have gotten away with that for the c-arm - but that is another story...

Also have them bid against each other for your business. My buddy got the new stryker RF unit AND the discogram machine for $17K (or so he tells me) by having the RF companies bid for the sale.

Stryker machines run from 17K for basic (good price) to 44k for the multi-lesion machine at full retail.

The money is made on probes and consumables.

Stryker and Neurotherm are my favorites. I like touch screen.

If you are just starting, you can wait and get away with not doing RF for awhile. After about 2 years i am just now thinking i may have the patient volume to justify the cost of the machine. And i will be demoing like was just said.
