I was reading that mayo was 8-5, 5 days a week. Is this the norm or are there several different types of schedule classifications. Also, are there any sites that explain the different types of schedules for the different schools? Thanks.

That's really hard core, and totally not the norm. For example, at Buffalo you get out at 12 almost everyday and at Stonybrook you get out at 3 or earlier. You can best find out about the schedule when you go for your interview.

Pitt has 2 afternoons/week off. Penn State gives you time off for "self-directed study" and whatnot...

Cornell has the best schedule. I pasted it all over my wall and I'm planning on tattooing it to my back.

Cornell has the best everything I think.
