Hi- I am a non-traditional student who has been working in another field for a few years. I was pre-med in undergrad from a great state school and am returning to pursuing medical school. I have a low GPA (3.2c, 2.6s) and have not taken the MCAT which has led me to apply to master's programs. I need good support and opportunities for clinical volunteering and am a little worried about the cost. Long term, I would love to practice rural medicine or pediatrics on the East Coast, MD programs. Which would y'all recommend?

Accepted:
Tulane's MS in Anatomy
Vermont's Master of Medical Science
Case Western's MS in Medical Physiology

Waitlisted:
Georgetown SMP

Not heard:
VCU Cert
Penn Specialized Sciences
Boston University MAMS
I don't give recommendations as to individual SMPs or post-bac programs, because they're pretty much a dime-a-dozen.. You should go for:

1) the cheapest tuition

2) a program given at a host medical school

3) is one year in length

4) has the best linkage deal.

The specialty that you think you want to pursue does not mean anything at this point. Do not worry about that. Go to the cheapest program you can. Any of these programs will get you where you need to go if you DO WELL. You could go to the most expensive, prestigious program out there, but if you do poorly, it doesn't matter.
