I'm curious to see where everybody who is pre-dental and posting on SDN is from...

Hopefully this can help with local networking, forming DAT study groups, getting information, whatever...

Now there's only one other person from IL (yea bgraham!) - I am suprised! Isn't Chicago the third largest city in the United States??

I'm actually from Carol Stream, went to Champaign-Urbana for undergrad/grad school.
 
Born and raised in California, been living in Florida for the past 10 years... which do I pick? 😀

I would pick Florida.. since u got instate tuition in Florida and if anybody local wanted to contact you - you would be associated with that state.

Illinois is pretty underrepresented in this poll relative to the population that it has...

dang californians.. gonna make it hard for me someday when i apply to my in state cali schools..😡
 
Ok.. so I'm from NY.. mother still lives there, father lives in NJ... I've lived in FL for the past 3 years for undergrad.... I'm applying to all the state schools in those states... How should I decide where to prove residency? My parents have an extension on their taxes, and are currently trying to decide who is going to claim me as a dependent. Since I'm under 24, most schools allow one to claim residency under who they are a dependent... I can probably prove state residency in FL since I've rented apartment past 2 yrs and have FL registration/liscense... Advice with regard to my parents' taxes?

From Pittsburgh, PA...hmm. Its a big state, but I guess not too many Pennsylvanians want to become dentist.

It s funny how all the time you hear about Utahns and Mormons overrrunning the dental field, I guess this shows that not all mormons are from Utah 😉
