I am going to another med school, but I think it's very funny that I applied to Howard last year and have yet to hear anything from them -- ie no rejection yet! I know that Howard's disorganization is well established, but I'm wondering if my rejection letter got lost, or if there are other people who also have heard nothing final yet. Isn't this funny? I think it's worth a chuckle.

is it because your "blackness" is not confirmed?

im applying there....i think they're gonna trash my application once they see that im not black.

BE gentle in your speech.

I applied to Howard and was placed on the waitlist after 4 months.
I had to call and be very persistent before I was informed of my status.
I really think that they have fire everyone in the admission office.

don't they take some non-black students? i'm curious as to why you're applying there. do you mind sharing?

howard is not all black.
However, there are many people applying to med school with low self esteem.

Avoid seeing yourself as black or white. Just be loving and caring.
That what medicine is all about.

Some of the school demographics that I've read say that 60% of the student body is URM. So clearly they don't only accept URMs. Howard appealed to me for its focus on training doctors to care for the medically underserved.

They accept all students, not just blacks. There is someone on SDN (not blk) who got accepted and is going there. When I went to visit the campus I saw different races there. Yes it is predominantly blk but I was shocked(in a good way) to see that they populations white, indian, asian and latino student/profs there.

thanks for the information bushbaby.
