alright, just curious if anyone has had a longer one. last week i had a 1 hour 50 minute student interview (at harvard). now im not bragging or anything- schools tell you all the time that interview length never correlates with success- but im just curious. that interview, while a lot of fun, took a lot out of me.

85 minutes at UCSF
and a little under 95 at UCI

My interview at UCSf started at 1:30 and I got out of there at 3:55. I am too lazy to calculate the minutes, but i guess its long.

WOW!!!
now this is the actual length of the interview itself, not the interview day, right?

hour and a half at UCLA

How did you survive that???

hour and a half at UTMB-Galveston.

The guy mentions something to me at the 40 minute mark about finishing up so that I can head to lunch. I ask him one question and boom, I'm sitting there listening (more like nodding my head since I think he was just rambling) for almost another hour. Barely made lunch.

Hey choker,

Apparently HMS is known for long interviews (just look at posts on interviewfeedback). A good friend of mine interviewed in late January and said that his interview lasted 2hr30min, which is pretty damn long, even by Harvard standards I'd say. Anyway, he said his interview was absolutely amazing, they spoke about topics ranging from generic medications, the health-delivery system in Africa and at one point the interviewer pulled out photos of his wife and children and they got into this intimate, philosophical discussion about family! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> I mean if I had an interview at HMS I would have a hard enough time not puking all over the dude's desk, let alone sharing philosophical banter about "the wife and kids". Anyway, I thoughtthis was an interesting story, so I thought I'd share. (Still waiting for my HMS invite  I want to interview for 2 hours too!) :D Take care all, ciao.

Even though choker has already won, I'll add mine.

GW- 2 hours with Dean of Admissions
Einstein- 2 hours with Professor of Pediatric Ambulatory Medicine

wow.

i didn't know that HMS was notorious for long interviews. both of mine were about an hour long.

in fact, i've never had an interview that went much longer than an hour...

actually lady in red won..by a landslide. can't you subtract?

1 1/2 at AECOM
50 min each at GW (had two interviewers)
but, I do think this is not all that significant...a bunch of my friends who just finished their residency thought this was a pretty funny topic....one went to Tufts..his interview was 20 min...another went to New Mexico...hers was 10 min!! (the guy had to get to surgery)
another went to Sinai, his interviewer was 35 minutes late and spoke with him for about 15 min., so who the hell knows!!

2 hours 50 minutes at SUNY Downstate! A very good one, though.

Good Lordy! My longest was about 1:40, but was so long only because my interviewer DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I WAS COMING! He didn't even know my name, and he was supposed to have read my file ahead of time. He said I was lucky he was in his office when I showed up! It all worked out in the end. He found my file, and I pretty much got to guide the conversation...got accepted, too!

By the way, this mix-up had never happened before, and when I informed the admissions office that afternoon, I was offered another interview right away--they even gave me the weekend to think it over. I ended up declining the additional interview, and as I said, it all worked out in the end...

I can't see myself speaking for 2+ hours at an interview; I would have to excuse myself to go urinate or depending on how cheesy, to go puke. The average interview time for me has been around 45 minutes, with a range of 30-50 minutes.

this topic reminds me of male gym class, in the shower afterward, doing the comparison thing..."hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, who has the longest......????????"
