In attempt to shed some positivity on the people who put up with our endless harassing telephone calls, emails, etc....

I vote University of Chicago Prizker, hands down. Everybody there from the Director of Admissions to the Admissions Secretary is beyond amazingly helpful.

USUHS

UTHSCSA is a close second.

OU is very nice when I've talked to them, but I don't like how late they start the whole interview season and how few interview dates they have.

Loyola. Word.

I say Illinois - Urbana Champaign's MD/PhD admissions office is great. They are friendly, nice, receptive, responsive, and they sound cute on the phone.
SUNY - Upstate is ridonkulously nice. At least that's what I think.

I'll throw VCU in the mix. (I hope their reading this ;) )

You've got a second vote for Pritzker! Their admissions staff has been indescribably helpful throughout this process and the coordination with med students following up to maintain contact, definitely beyond the call of duty...

I must vote for the University of Maryland.

During my interview day, everyone, from the Dean of Admissions to the maintenance guy working near the office, was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The lady at the front desk brougt me tea, sat me down, and just *talked* to me for a bit before the interview. It's little things like this that you remember.

I would say Case Western because Ellen Rosenbaum puts a nice personalized sticky note on your interview letter and when I called to reschedule (got e.coli from Dole lettuce) she sent me another note saying "get well soon!" Plus when I actually did interview there, they seemed really interested in everyone's life.

I'll second Loyola

Add Mayo

And Dartmouth (although I've only spoken over the phone, they were very helpful every time...)

U of Chicago was great the day of my interview...I really worked with admissions staff for anything though.

Ellen from Case rocks! She is so nice, both on the phone and in person. I want to send her a thank-you note. I joked around with her and gave her a hug on my interview day.

RFU/CMS - victor is the ****.
-mota

Loyola has been amazingly nice (they return phone calls, have a status check day, don't lose anything, respond quickly etc.)

My vote goes to:
Vermont
SUNY Upstate
Albany - got rejected but I am not one for holding a grudge
SUNY Buffalo - only if you get Mr. Rosso...the lady with the deep voice is kinda mean

Rayhan, I had no idea that we could possibly be going to/getting rejected from Vermont together! Oh it would be a Christmas miracle!!!

another for mayo

Well I have to ask: were they helpful BEFORE your invite? Because when I email them, all I get is the same f'ing boilerplate response about how I will be notified via snail mail when they have made their decision.

Perhaps they are nice once they consider you worthy, but before that you're a leper.

I was actually going to put them down as WORST office, but I felt the peer pressure of this thread and thought I should hear you guys out.

I know...I'm all giddy and my nipples are percolated from anticipation. Either that or the fact that it's 19 degrees today.

Awww....you got a cute new avatar. Is that the baby who has been giving you so much headache?

Loyola definitely wins this one for me.

Pritzker would have had my vote, but now that they've waitlisted me and informed me that i should "continue to stay in contact and show my interest" they have stopped responding to my emails. Not that they weren't all extremely nice throughout the process, but the lack of response to my emails now puts them a notch below Loyola.

Indeed he is. I was worried that my old avatar of the funniest man on TV (IMOP) skewed people's ideas of what I may look like. Being compared to Jerry Lewis in the Celebrities thread was humbling. Aren't there any funny hot women out there? So, yes, that's my son. He looks just like me:including the diaper.

Michigan--Really just on top with everything, enough so to send out midnight acceptances and follow up with e-mails after acceptance.

Case--Ellen and Dr. Heneghan (Associate Dean of Admissions) might have been the two nicest peple I've met during this process.

Chicago--Unbelievably impressive, especially when they remember everyone's name as you leave interview day.

I'm gonna reiterate that Pritzker is pretty incredible. I'm definitely looking forward to my revisit day in a few months.

Rayhan, I think you should change the line under your sn to "Perpetually percolated". "Percolate" has got to be your favorite word. Mine is "ubiquitous". :)

Yep, UPstate is super nice

Second vote for Michigan- Robert Ruiz remembered me when I saw him two weeks post-interview, and knew me online during one of the recent chats. And the interview day was so well run, despite the huge number of students there.

UChicago was great as well. In fact, I really can't complain about any of the admissions offices I've dealt with yet. Guess I'm lucky!

Here's a couple of hot female comedians (in my opinion of course):
danielle broussard
aisha tyler

I am sure there are more but I forgot their names.

Done.

My favorite words also include tittilating, and titular (notice a pattern ;) )

MUSC is my vote! They even had snacks there for us at our interview day to take around with us since we were going to have a late (1 o'clock) lunch. Also, they are great about returning emails and are super friendly!

The most entertaining Admissions Office I've encountered is the one at Emory's. They're all really nice, and they make it feel very informal. Also, Erica Black emailed me back the next day despite having 1400 emails in her inbox.

UTHSC Memphis...basically, if they can field all of my panicked calls/emails and still have a great attitude, they deserve an old fashioned pat on the back (and maybe a Nobel Peace prize).

Seriously speaking, I felt like I was a part of the UT family from the first moments of the interview day. They worked at putting all of the interviewees at ease, and were always available (during the interview day and after).

Kudos to them!

Actually, I had a good experience with them too. I interviewed the Friday before the week of Thanksgiving, and I knew the adcom was meeting the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. I got an email on 12/1 telling me that the adcom only reviewed in-state applicants that day, and my file would be reviewed 12/13, with the letter sent out 12/14. So I thought it was nice of them to let us know, because otherwise I really would have been wondering what happened!

I guess that means I'll be getting mail in the next few days...

I was really impressed by WashU... really tried to make the applicants feel welcome and relaxed.

Emory's been my only interview thus far where all of the interviewee's were issued condoms by the director of admissions (Erica looked pretty mortified when he pulled out the bag). Something about it being world aids week, altho we were assured we shouldn't need to use them during the interview day.

I've also got to vote for UConn. Admissions staff is pretty great, I think the exit interview with the dean of admissions and talk with the dean of student affairs is a nice touch as well.

UC Davis. They are SO nice -- Plus the interview day was absolutely planned with the applicants in mind (not true of all schools); Ex. they let you pick what you want to eat for lunch from the cafeteria :p plus provide escorts to show you to your interview rooms throughout the medical center.

UTHSC--Memphis, and I'm not just saying that because I got an acceptance. ;)

UMich and WashU in that order thus far. My parents said that just the other day they got a Christmas card or letter from Michigan addressed to them. Midnight acceptance was awesome, and they were fantastic the day of.
