My submission date is 7/5 and there has been no activity whatsoever on my app that I can see. I got confirmation (twice) that they had all my transcripts within one week of submission.

I sent them an email asking to be put on the priority list a couple of weeks ago, but of course they ignored it. I hate calling them because it is a huge waste of money!

So, anyone earlier than me still not verified?

Gotta love AMCAS. Luckily, I don't think the schools I applied to are waiting for verified apps.

You should call. Unless you don't really need to be verified anytime soon. They don't seem to respond to emails and the priority list is sort of a joke. At least it was in my case.

Great idea for a thread! 😀 I wonder if all the June people are verified by now?

Why don't you do something a little more proactive about getting verified? But if your schools aren't waiting on verified apps, maybe you don't really care?

Yep, that's it - I don't really care, since the lack of verification isn't really holding me up (I called to verify that no school is waiting for my verified app). I certainly don't care enough to waste my time and money listening to Mariah Carey and yelling at "specialists". It would be nice to get something besides misery for my money though...

I guess I'll be the guinea pig and see what happens if you don't bug the crap out of them. By the way, I have 5 transcripts and I wonder if that is why they have skipped over me.

I'm early, but you beat me. I submitted July 6 with nothing yet even after contacting Nancy Tilinghast. I have only one transcript.

As far as the waste of money calling long distance, try one of those 5.9 cent a minute (or cheaper) phone cards. You can be on hold for three hours and it's still only about $11.

But of course the more interaction I have with AMCAS the more frustrated I become so perhaps laying low (or is it lying low...I always get that laying and lying thing confused) is the best thing to do.

My main concern was that Oct 15 (now changed to Oct 22) was the deadline for receipt of transcripts at AMCAS for Yale and Harvard. And I got an e-mail from AMCAS on Oct 10 that my transcripts had not been received even though they were sent in mid-June and I received confirmation of receipt in August. A lot of schools have transcript deadlines of Nov 1 so you may want to ensure that at least your transcripts have arrived by then. Good luck. It will all work out in the end for all of us.

June 26 submission here. I JUST got verified today after writing a legal action email to tillinghast

CONGRATS, E'01!!! 😀 😀 😀 That's terrific! But isn't it sad that we have to threaten them to get them to do their job?

E'01, Did you do a dance? I definitly did a dance. 😛

I submitted 7/6 and was verified 10/16. I wrote them an email every week explaining that I had specifically busted my heiny getting my AMCAS app in early so that I would have some kind of advantage (that I really need) in the rolling admissions process and that it was unethical for them to verify out of order of submission date. I also requested a specific reason why I had not been verified in 3+ months. In the next few emails I requested being put on the priority list. They always wrote back that I was coming up for verification and I always replied to them with the above complaints.

I got an email from them 10/11 that I was on priority list.
Got an email 10/14 that I was in verification.
Got email 10/18 that I was verified.

If you submitted that early, you should definetly call them. The lines are not as busy as before and I was only put on hold for 2 mins the last time I called. I told the guy on the phone when I submitted my app, then he did the rest for me and put me on the priority list. It took 5 days before I got the red X's and a day after that for it to be completely processed. Its worth it to call. Be persistant.

Wednesday - did I do a dance? I was whooping and hollering like a fool...and I was at work! I wanted to call my mummy and daddy at work to tell them..seriously!

Awww thank you SMW. I'm not one to lie at all (to heck I was going to get a lawyer - I can't afford one) so I did and still do feel guilty about that. But then I keep reminding myself that after 4 months and $840 I should darnit be verified!

submitted: 07-01
letter from lawyer to AMCAS: 10-16
phone call from AMCAS to lawyer: 10-16
red x's: 10-18
confirmation email: 10-19

Anyone else notice a pattern? I'm usually one to want to keep lawyers uninvolved, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Take me off this list; I was verified last night. I have felt like I was in limbo, with 11 secondaries in and only 1 interview and 1 rejection. I hope that most of my schools were waiting for verification and soon I will start hearing something.

I submitted JUNE 25. The only reason that I am verified is because I called. I just got verified 10/19.
When I called, they told me there was some "glitch in the system" and they were processing apps out of order. If you are wondering if you should be verified by now, I would definately call. They verified mine within 48 hrs of my call. But you have to be ready to be on hold for awhile...

I submitted on 7/13 and have NOT been verified. Following the advice on this board to call and complain, I did so on 10/10 and was told by the specialist (before I even uttered one word of complaint) "let me move you onto the priority list since you submitted in July and have not been verified yet"
Nothing has happened since then...this is SO frustrating!!

7/13 and still no verification...

***I've threatened legal action, called tons of times, written at least five emails, all of which have failed.

At this point, I have pretty much resigned myself to just waiting. I don't know what else I could even do!

Resident Alien,
could you pass on Nancy's email address please?

Oooo, oooo, I can beat these! Submitted July 5, no verification, AND EDP! (Luckily my school doesn't care about the verification, but still...)

AMCAS sucks such ass that we're actually comparing for who's been Fuc*ed over more...

I HATE AMCAS, ahhh!!!!!!!!!

😡 😡

🙂 All Better! 🙂
