So I thought that almost everyone on the pre-allo SDN forums were med school applicants, recent med school matriculants, or undergrad pre-meds looking towards the future. However, I have noticed a few messages from doctors and even people who are involved in interviewing and admissions! Who exactly reads this site? I'm really curious to know, so if you're not either a ugrad, a med applicant, or a med student, can you reply and say what your status is? Thanks!

i'm an app but i've seen a mother of a pre-med post here as well.

I've heard many people make offhanded references to "Michigan" reading the forums. Do these people mean the Michigan admissions committee members?

I'm a homeless man that lives in a dumpster next to a med school. :horns:

Yes some schools adcom and other admissions officers peruse the forums and sometimes offer insight to their schools. Its is widely known that some admission office's at schools can often use SDN as a way to promote their school and/or track what is being said about their schools.

Unicorn, you are correct in noticing that some members of admissions committees read these forums. Some directors---such as Rel Larkin of U South Florida and Robert Hinkley of UMiami---even post here. However, since they post so rarely you shouldn't expect anyone with a say in med school admissions to sign the forum.

I don't fit in any of the above categories, though I spend far too much time on here reading (very rarely posting). I'm a boyfriend of a current medical school applicant...and reading all the stuff that goes on here, I'm glad its not me who is applying. 🙂
