Hello!

I'm new to this board and I'm glad I know about it! Just wondering who else will be in the class of 2004 at Western U.

I was until I interviewed at UHS yesterday. Great school. I'm going to do some more research on both schools.

Can you post what you know so far about the two schools? Maybe the positive and negative attributes of each school. Talk about the campus, the programs, students, interview... Anything you can think of. Thank you.

I'm there!!

This is what I know so far, please correct me if I'm wrong. Please note that this is what I[/B} see as important.

Positives:
WUCOMP:
1) Its in CA
2) Good OMM department
3) Brand spankin' new hospital (Arrowhead, I heard its a good hospital too)
4) Nice facilities/anatomy lab
5) Close to beach and mountains (snowboarding!!)

UHS:
1) Nice campus
2) Good board scores (97.4% pass rate)
3) Really nice facilities/anatomy lab
4) Lots of ethernet jacks for laptops (well its important to me!

)
5) Lots of good rotation opportunity
6) In a DO friendly state
7) Low cost of living

Negatives:
WUCOMP:
1) The campus is kinda ugly (need more trees)
2) Pomona can get REALLY smoggy and nasty
3) Average board scores (92%)
4) High cost of living

UHS:
1) Don't know how Asian-friendly the city/state is (yeah its a big deal to me, don't want to get lynched)
2) Big class (~250!)
3) Not in CA

Please feel free to add to this list.

I can't speak for Western, but I'll throw in my 2 cents for UHS:

Postives:
Kansas City - great city! Great sports, arts, and culture
Students - really great too! They were more than eager to offer up their high opinions of the school
Building/classrooms - Very nice. Admin building and classroom buildings are beautiful
Faculty/Alumni - the one faculty and one alumni I interviewed with were very open and sincere. They really thought very highly of their school
Clinical Opps - there are many hospitals in the area with various opportunities
Living - relatively low cost, housing is plentiful in KC area

Negatives:
tornados

I'll take my hurricanes anyday over a tornado

I just at UHS yesterday. It seems like a great school. I didn't think about the tornadoes, but everything else you said on the post are definitely true. And great facilities. I just hope I didn't screw up on the interview. I think there's a good chance I would go there if I'm accepted.
