I know there is no shortage of lists around here, but I think this one actually might help some people. I want to start a list where the people on this forum can list where they are going to med school (not just where they were accepted, but where they intend to go). I know for most people its a little early for this list, but I still think it could do some good. For one, it might introduce a couple of future classmates. For another, if you are in the position where you are trying to decide between several acceptances, and want more info on a school/why someone would pick it, you can ask the members who indicate that they are going to that school. There are probably other reasons you guys can think of.

Ok, so here's the start:

Those that know can feel free to add on.

ARGH!!! I wish I knew!!!

Anyway, I think there was a list like this generated a while ago. Maybe you can do a search and pull it back up.

I'M GOING TO EMORY, whether they like it or not! :D

I debated bringing this topic back up as well. However, I really think it will be better to wait a few months, when we have a better idea of what will happen. I, for one, have no idea where I will be next year.

as u can tell ppl, im not over this amcas thing yet. i think i will need lots of therapy in the future. Anyone going into psychiatry?

AMCAS only has 1 person hired to handle all 40,000 people who apply. Sorry one of you will have to go.

It's faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar too early for this question. Sorry.

I'll answer Dylann FMD.

I will most likely be going to...BAYLOR!

mma

Although it's tooooo early for this, let's keep up the format, cuz I'd like to use this thread in the future (por favor, Dios, let me get in somewhere):

Baylor: mma
Case Western Reserve: Dylann FMD

congrats to all

The one good this about this thread is that it obviates threads like "I'm INNN" and "YEAAAAAAAH" which makes the people who didn't get in yet bad (myself included). Those who can emotionally handle it can come here to check it out.

Nevertheless, in the spirit of this thread, I'm adding myself to the list:

Baylor: mma
Case Western Reserve: Dylann FMD
Columbia: katiep
Harvad: katiep
Yale: katiep

The commute will be a bitch.

wait you got into columbia, harvard and yale? yeesh...leave some room for the rest of us lady :D

by the way, so which one is it? I hate to tell you this, but you can only go to one school at the end....

Katiep did you turn down Hopkins and UCSF? I guess the commute would really suck if you hadn't!

No, Watcha, I plan on matriculating at all three, without telling each of the others. Like that I'll have a really great shot at residencies.

And no, UCLA2000, UCSF is too far; the plane ride is at least 5 hours, plus getting to the airport, etc., it would just be too much. I didn't apply to Hopkins because I didn't think I'd get in.

Unless interviewed and accepted at Sinai or Cornell. I'm packing my backs for the Bronx and heading to Einstein :)

As of right now, I'm heading for Cincinnati. But that is subject to change, pending more interviews.

Einstein but I'm still waiting for some love from Cornell, Columbia and Yale

Albany, if not one of a dozen other schools! :D

:) I liked Sinai a lot - but the dorms! Why can't they have singles?? Since you have to be married to get a single - well hmmm umm, you're not taken by any chance are you? [insert grinning face here- my stooopid computer won't work]

wow, i guess single housing means that much to you, eh? i live in nyc dorm housing identical to that at mount sinai (6 person appartment suite) and i absolutely love it. i guess it just depends on your character. i hate living alone and knew if i had a single suite, i would be miserable. some have said "a social ninja"-if you will.

anyway, at least let me know when you hear anything from them. i called today to see when we might at least expect a response and all she gave me was "you have to give us some time, you only interviewed last week."

this is total flakiness the way they just hang you out like "we'll tell you when we feel like it_ i guess you can assume we'll do it before july."

i must say, in this whole process, the best school i've seen in terms of keeping their applicants straight is stanford:
right off the bat they dont even take 50% of the secondary fees and dont make excessive people fill out the secondary. they screen heavily for interview so that people dont have to needlessly shell out hundreds of dollars and hours to fly out there. and they give you final decisions as soon as they're made_ none of this stringing you out for a "maybe we'll interview you later, if we feel like it and if we get around to it" crap. finally, they tell you explicity, "we will decide on your app between 4-6 thursdays after your interview." i mean, is that so hard? why cant all schools let students where they stand and when to expect a response. and they get pissy when we call them to ask what's up?!?

whatever, sorry, im hungry and bored and nervous.
