It would help to know what tests you're using!

I'm mid-20's...if I can get about 8-10 more correct on the 2 science sections, I think I'll be right where I've been aiming to be...

I'm leaving too many easy points on the table, and have noticed I do quite well on PS, but then time becomes an issue and I start missing a bunch. I need to figure out how to be faster...and I need to just memorize some stuff for Bio...

I'm hoping that reviewing the Flashcards a lot this week and next will help.

Finally practiced a WS on AAMC 8, and thought it sucked..not because it was hard, but because I hate writing about stuff I have a strong opinion on, and that "politician" prompt hacked me off. :)

Just thought I'd let you know that there are some of us not getting 12's on each section as we practice..

:)

I have original princeton review books im study with. Nothing seems to help. Should i just review the text or continue to work test passages for the next 2 weeks????!

I am by no means getting 10/11/12's in the sections, you are NOT alone. :luck: there're still days left....

I really am not sure what to tell you...ever since I started practicing VR, I've had decent luck with it...getting 9's and above...I took the Kaplan online course, and some of the stuff they mention in their strategy seems effective..but I think what's really helped me is my undergrad was a liberal arts U, so I was forced to take a lot of critical thinking, history, philosophy, etc...My weakness, of all things, is the Bio...and I was a freakin' Bio major..just haven't had any of the classes in 8-12 years.

I don't know if I should tell you to not worry because I'm scared out of my mind but, to make you feel better, yes, there are others like yourself that aren't making high 20s and 30s. I have quit my job, made MCAT studying my job, have gone to the poor house, and for what? A 20 on my last practice test... So, we'll see. I'm hardcore studying these next 2 weeks and just hope all goes well. I will never know unless I try. And you, as well. Good luck. 2 weeks and it will all be over. I already have a party planned with my friends for the night of the 19th--drinks all around--regardless of how I do

dont be scared man, u r not alone. Same here. I got a low score on the april test and i am still doing poorly in the low 20s. I started studying since last december and i am still doing horrible. I get like 10s on both sciences sections and 3s on verbal. I know----> pathetic. Ohwell, i am trying extra hard. Hang in there, buddy

Here's a question:

When you go over the test and check your mistakes, do you understand why you got them wrong? If so, then you may just need to pay more careful attention to each problem.

On the other hand, if you still don't understand why you made a mistake after looking at the correct answer, then this indicates that you need to do a bit more studying on the concepts.

I'm still stuck in the 20s too. My problem seems to be messing up in just one section which just brings my score down incredibly.

Keep working hard. We've come this far, there's no point in throwing in the towel now.

Dont worry your not alone, the scores posted by sdn users are definatly skewed towards the higher end. If it were a representation of test takers all over , basically everyone would be getting into medical school. just keep studying.

Concentrate. I have only been studying for 3 1/2 weeks and I went from a 19 to a 30. You can do it, just concentrate and think. The MCAT is a thinking test. Half of the answers are in the passage, only basic knowledge of science is required.

True, but SDN users tend to be smarter than the average pre-med! ;)
