Why does increasing the radius of a vessel increase tension in Laplace law?

The equation is T=PR. If pressure or radius increase, tension must therefore increase. Think of blowing up a balloon. When the balloon is more full (radius is larger) it has a firmer feel to it than when it is less full and, just like a blood vessel with an aneurysm, more prone to popping due to the increased tension becoming greater than the intermolecular/intercellular forces holding the object together.
