Why has Jefferson not responded?

Has anyone else out there not heard from jefferson? My application to that school has been complete for 3 months and I have not heard from them. I have interviewed at the other Philly Schools but not this one? Are they that slow, or should I expect a rejection in the summer? Also, can anyone who has been to interview at Jefferson tell me what the school is like and why you would go there, as well as what you think the school looks for in its applicants. Don't they have like 230 people in their freshman medical school class? That seems like a huge number, and the % grading system to me kinda sucks? Thanks!

They seem to be very slow.

Just wanted to comment on the grading system. The students told us that they are going to switch the grading system to P/F next year. Didn't see it written down, but I tend to believe them. Too random to just make up.

I had been waiting to hear from them as well (file complete since September) and yesterday I contacted them since I received an interview invite to MCP-HU and wanted to coordinate. They immediately asked me what day I would like to interview as if they had been waiting for me to contact them. Strange, I know, but perhaps my file had been ready for an interview contact the same day as MCP and it was just coincidence that I called. Both schools are interviewing at least through the end of April so there is still lots of time. Good luck...

they are definitely going P/F next year, so don't let that affect your opinion about the school. as for waiting to hear of an interview...i contacted the school a while back (in Oct.) to check on my status, and the computer said I was complete. However, when dean callahan went to review my actual file it was missing! she emailed me and we cleared up the situation...as it turned out, they had temporarily misplaced my stuff. give them a call, as this may have happened to you. as for the school, if you're looking for research-based, this may not be the best choice. while there is ample opportunity for research, their facilities are not up to date, and they are just now starting to strengthen the program. other than that, philly is awesome and the students there seemed to really like it. i personally like the fact that it's such a huge class and the location is great.

My friend is a MS-1 at Jefferson and while she said the school has intentions of becoming P/F, they are not 100% sure it will be effective for the Class of 2006. Even when they do become P/F, they will still rank the class.

I called them about coordinating interviews, and they were accomodating, but also rather slow about doing so. I don't think you have anything to lose by calling. Good luck! 🙂

Yeah I've been waiting complete since like Sept 4th. Every time I call they say "your file is complete and under consideration at this time". And I've called many times and they always say that same thing! Weird....
