Wife-kicking kung fu dentist

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
At least it's not another suicide story. 🙄

Why in the world did they go ahead with the wedding if they were going to start fighting right away?👎

why do we have to know about the profession, when someone does something stupid that has nothing to do with anything remotely related to it

useless thread/ 👎

that's pretty funny.

Lighten up, my friend, the thumbs down is so negative! If you couldn't tell from the title "WIFE-KICKING KUNG FU DENTIST" that this thread was meant as nothing more than a little light-hearted diversion and wasted your time looking at it, who's to blame?

I assume you're joking around, though, considering you posted something equally as useless (well, I guess it does raise the issue of hand/arm insurance), but very funny:

what i posted in my thread had some relevance to dentistry; a dentist not being able to practice because of an accident......what does kicking your wife have to do with dentistry?
i just think it's silly .. somebody kicks his wife, and you have to specify .."he's a dentist!" was it his dental intuitions that caused him to kick his wife maybe, i dont know??

It was a funny story, especially the ending description of what the groom was wearing out of jail. And even though it's not completly relevant to dentistry, I'm curious to know when our associates get into law/legal troubles. Like that dentist that went bizerk on the guy that wouldn't move his car. Anytime a respected professional or public leader gets into trouble, like it or not, it's news.

This story has given me a new hope in life! I will go home tonight and kick my mother in-law's A** 😀 yes, I will. If that dentist could do it, I can do it too!
The game is over! :beat:

I admit the story has little to no educational value at first glance, but if I could be allowed to stretch things a bit, maybe the lesson we can learn from this article is that dentist are held to a slightly higher standard by society, and thus we must pay closer attention to the things we do and say. Given all the crazy stuff that happens in the world everyday, I doubt the story would have be published if the wife-kicker had been a factory worker (like me) or something. The fact that the article says "the dentist" did this or that a number of times instead of "Mr. X" did this or that should serve as yet another reminder of the numerous responsibilities to society we have or will have both in and out of the office.

that's good, one kick may remove wife's tooth at the same time. 😀

While this might or might not be true, it sounds like you are saying because he is a dentist, he is in trouble for having a karate fight with his wife and other people. Where I come from, dentist or not, a karate fight at your wedding hotel is bad news.

Obv you haven't been to your average wedding where I'm from

I'm just saying that because he is a dentist, he is getting more attention for having a karate fight with his wife, evident from the fact that his profession, not his name, was repeated several times in the article. I imagine that most people would agree that trying out your flying dragon on your new wife in a hotel would spell trouble idea for anyone!

Oh stop trying to argue just for the sake of arguing. Relax.

And yes, dentists are definitely held to a higher standard in society. Hence the reason why any and every random/ridiculous/insignificant thing that happens to a dentist will gain media exposure and they will specify what his/her profession is. What was the wife's profession? I don't remember the article mentioning it. She's probably just an attorney or used car salesman, but who cares...they're expected to be sleazy. Politically correct enough for ya?

I just think it's funny that people are like "Be careful what you do or the media will be all over you" about a kung-fu wedding night fight in a hotel lobby. If the guy had been in trouble for downloading internet songs or something, I would say that the media was going overboard cause the guy is a dentist. This is a little more dramatic and would make the news, at least locally, in most places regardless of whether he was a dentist or a lawyer or car salesman. Just my opinion.

Noted...but I think the point is they just had to specify he's a dentist to make it even more of a headline. And it wasn't kung fu, it was a karate. Geeze, get it right...since arguing trivial details is such "a kick" -haha, **** that was lame.
