Military & Civi Residency Approved!

Wilderness Medicine & International Health, Wilderness Rescue, & Wilderness Survival rotations are offered by the University of Nebraska School of Medicine, the Belize Institute for Tropical & Wilderness Medicine, and GMRS Ltd. in the fabulous rain forest of Belize, Central America! These programs carry full elective, and in some cases required, credit for all residents and health professions students, and are taught by UNMC faculty. Belize (formerly British Honduras) is a safe, English speaking country, 2 hours flight from Miami, Dallas, and Houston. This is our 10th year offering these programs. Join the elite few who are selected to participate. Please visit Global Medical Rescue Services, Ltd. for details – programs are already filling!

No, as a matter of fact, it's not; these programs have been posted here for several years; every year we have students and residents who join our programs from this opportunity listing; this is an accredited rotation of the UNMC School of Medicine; if you aren't interested thats OK... these programs are most certainly not for the average person...

Considering the fact that this is the military medicine (bashing  ) forum, and your advertisement has nothing at all to do with that, best for this thread to be moved to another location. Nothing against you personally :) , you are certainly welcome to stay here and bash military medicine along with all the rest of us :D

It has EVERYTHING to do with military medicine, as we have active duty & reserve/guard units, military & military in civi residents, and various military & government students training with us because they can't get this material through their channels. Go look at the website client list for a sample. Myself and all of our senior cadre save one are former military docs, 18D's, and other prior service sordid types.

I have always found military medicine to be one of the strangest mixes of incredible skill & dedication tumbled together with utter incompetence. It always seemed to be two standard deviations to either end. Which is why I got out after 10 years. Miss some of it though.

Stay Safe!
