Will a "P" on Step 1 even matter for DO's come residency applications

I'm a DO student that is taking Step 1 and I hopefully plan on passing (my NBME's have been decent), but a lot of the students at my school are just going to take Step 2 and not Step 1. It's too late for me to not take it at this point because it's not refundable but will it even "matter" to residences? Seems a bit annoying to have to now take both Step 1 and Step 2. I wish Step 1 was still scored tbh or at least make Step 2 P/F too. However that's just wishful thinking.

Should DO take USMLE 1 & 2 or is STEP 1 no longer needed (so STEP 2 only) as it is P/F?

The specialty I want is not very competitive (PM&R or Community Neuro) so I am just wondering how many board exams I will have to take? Would applying with a P on COMELX 1 and a STEP 2 and COMLEX score be enough or will programs require I take get a P on STEP 1 as well as a STEP 2 score?
