I'm a pretty average applicant, 3.8GPA in Biosciences, 505MCAT and around 150-200 hours clinical experience (hospitals volunteer, scribing, etc). A few somewhat unique EC's (Chemistry lab instructor for 3 years, Undergrad Student Government) but I'm worried that I don't have that... wild experience that will take it over the top. For example, I've never... I don't know... set up an AIDS clinic in Uganda with my bare hands or whatever kind of crazy stuff some pre-med kids do. Will this hurt my chances?

As long as you have a good answer for the secondary prompt "what do you bring to medical school"/"how do you add diversity to the entering class" then you'll be fine. Some applicants respond with generic answers; a dean at one of the Top 10s said they're tired of hearing about people who are "passionate about passion".
