Is it normal to not place sutures after extraction of bony impacted wisdom teeth. I always thought, that this procedure requires raising the flap and placing sutures

For the lowers, it depends on the flap design. Not always necessary -- read up on the Peter Waite flap. Most people I've met don't suture the uppers, but again it depends on flap design.

Basically as above. I don't suture uppers in most cases unless i needed an aggressive releasing incision
