I submitted my AMCAS and it is verified but I changed my mind about applying this year. What is the process to withdraw the primary application? Do I just ignore the secondaries that I will received after AMCAS transmits my application in July or do I have to notify each school that I sent my primary app that I will not be applying? I am guessing no refund right? Does anyone know if this will be viewed negatively?

It is probably a good idea to notify the schools that you changed your mind, because next year (or whenever) you apply, if you list those same schools you will have to check the "I applied to this school in a previous year" box on the AMCAS app....even though you never filled out a secondary or anything, I know this because I am applying to a couple of schools this year that I applied to last year but never filled out the secondary and under the Help section of AMCAS it said that you did "apply" to a school even if all you did was send in the primary.

This is one good reason why folks (not that this is Pyra's reason) should usually wait (unless you are getting 30+ on your practice tests) to submit amcas until they have seen their april mcat scores (this is not intended for those taking aug mcat). It saves a lot of time and possibly $$$$
