If an applicant has withdrawn from core science courses during their undergrad years, is that viewed as more undesirable than getting D's in those core classes. Now that I am older and more focused, I have gone back to school and am doing post-bac, receiving pretty good grades. My question is, can an applications past of withdrawing be overlooked if they do post-bac and have consistently high marks on the rest of the core classes? In this case, would it be advisable to go to grad school, or do something else? Any advice would help🙁 🙁

i'm sure plenty of pple have gotten in w/some w's. just try your best, let the rest fall into place.

Had some W's, got accepted. Don't worry about it, just do your best now to show that you are capable. I actually explained my past w's and a D (retook all and got A's) as a learning experience, and, dare I say, I think it may have actually helped me in interviews (i.g.- showing maturity, growth, etc.). Can't change the grades now, so just make your app. look as good as possible from here on in.

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys!!! JMD, did you do anything additional to strengthen your application? (high MCAT scores, etc).

W's ain't nothing. The only death sentence you have is if the Dean of Admissions catches you screwing his wife..
