First off, thank you for taking the time to read about my concern. This spring I applied to two universities as a transfer student and was accepted to both. I then decided to take a break from school to pursue a service/mission trip experience. Here is issue though: when I applied to both of these universities I missed the deadlines for receiving the academic scholarship which I desired. This together with the fact that I would soon be leaving on a service/mission trip, I decided to inform both of these schools that I would not be attending. (I turned down acceptance rather than deferring). I did this because it would give me the opportunity to apply to both of these schools again as a transfer student and meet the deadlines for the scholarships I need. I am concerned that this could show up on transcripts or school records in some way. Could this denial of a school after confirming intent to enroll (basically submitting a security deposit) show up on a transcript or hurt medical school admission chances in some manner? I apologize if the answer is obvious but I am interested in other opinions.
