It seems to me a lot of us got engaged recently at my school (including myself). I thought it'd be nice to start a forum for us to discuss our wedding plans, engagement stories, helpful planning tips, etc...
I'll start us off:
I'm a MS1 and I got engaged on Feb. 4th at our med school's Gala (prom-like) event. My fiance really surprised me with the ring and the timing. I figured he'd wait another year or so. Now we've set the date so that we're getting married over Xmas break during my second year. We want to do something different for our wedding, so we're arranging to get married on a cruise. Since we just got engaged a few weeks ago, I haven't planned too much yet. I did, however, manage to find the perfect dress already. For those of you who don't already have your dresses and are looking for a relatively inexpensive one, David's Bridal has a sale right now. I got mine for under $500 (plus tax).
