Ohio State has two female residents. One is in her third year, I think, and the other is actually an intern this year and matched here to begin residency in July.

Have your friend contact University of Minnesota OMFS program or the Montefiore OMFS program in NY, they both have many women residents in their programs. Better yet, have your friend "extern" at any OMFS program to get a first hand experience on what OMFS is all about.

Do any of you know of any women oms around the Pittsburgh area? My male surgeon is awesome to talk to, but I would like to get some perspective from a female on the career! I have only met one female oms that I can recall, and she was a short-term fellow from Austraila or England and I was like 13....

P.S. If you've read my other two(yeah, it's not alot but i've been reading these threads for four years), please dont tell me im jumping the gun or anything similar to that...
