I've written most of my secondaries, but haven't submitted any of them (waiting on my last rec before that). A decent chunk of my essays are between 1/2 and 2/3 of the prompt's stated maximum length. I can fill them out if needed, but don't feel that this would really contribute to my content too much. What's the general consensus on essay length?

I always shoot for at least 2/3 of the maximum, but at least half is fine. Look and see if you can add anything useful, add a story if its appropriate, be more specific and personal etc., but if you can't I wouldn't fluff it up just to make a word limit.
