I know the interview season is winding down but I'm really sick of these so thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. After interviewing students this year the most annoying thing that a student can do is to write a "form letter" thank-you note. It smacks of insincerety so don't do it. The up side is that I generally turn in my evaluation within 2 days so I don't see these notes till after-the-fact. What would be much better is to write the interviewer after you've been accepted and are trying to make up your mind about where to go or after you've already decided to attend the institution just to get some advice. Most students would probably be more than happy to help.
