So here's my situation: I already submitted my application to AMCAS. My GPA is 3.97. I'm a URM. I have decent extracurriculars. My problem is MCAT. I'm scheduled to take it July 18th but I'm not very happy with the scores I've been getting so far. My last score was a 25. I'm thinking of pushing my MCAT date to August 9th so I can have another month to study to improve my score to a 30. I've heard that taking it in Aug. will put me at a disadvantage. Should I just do my possible best for the next two wks and take it July 18th or should I wait till Aug 9th? I believe the scores will be coming out early September for the Aug 9th exam. I should already have everything in by then so my MCAT score will be all the schools will be waiting on. Thanks!

Take the test only when you're ready. It's better to get a good score and apply next year, then get a bad score which stays with you.
