So I am currently in a post bac program and have a 4.0 at the moment. My goal is to graduate the program with a 4.0. I am doing a career changer so I am taking most of my science classes in the program. However unfortunately my UG GPA was 2.7. I did some math and found out after I complete the program the max GPA I can have is a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and a cumulative BCPM of 3.634. I am worried that I will be unable to make it into medical school no matter how well I do. Does a 4.0 in a PB program look good? I talked have a meeting with my adviser coming up but I guess I am nervous right now and would like others input as well. I have been in the program for only 1 semester unfortunately, but I plan on being diligent the whole time.

More info: I worked full time 3 years as a psych counselor and got my BA in psych before deciding to pursue a medical route. I had a 3.23 in community college before transferring to a uc.

So what are your guys' thoughts and what can I do to help my chances?

If you ace your post bacc AND score well on the MCAT then you'll be fine. Show them the you of now is not the you of then!

With your projected GPA numbers you would be competitive for some DO schools with a MCAT of 500 and most DO schools with a MCAT of 505. For MD schools it depends on your state of residence and your MCAT score.

I am a CA resident and have not taken my mcat yet, but my goal is 511-512

Ace your post bacc and do well on the MCAT. That combination will get you MD and DO attention.
