Hello,

I'm a senior studying Biology, and I'm trying to apply to medical school the next cycle.
I was wondering if admissions will think that this is a downward trend in GPA:

I had ~3.7 my freshman year (mostly A-), then ~3.5 my sophomore year (some B's in science classes), and during the first semester of my junior year, I really messed up and got about 2.7 (2 c+ in science classes). Until here, it's for sure a downward trend.
But in the second semester of my junior year, I got a 3.9... If I keep this up for 1 more year, would admissions look at this positively...? I can explain why I had a rough semester back then as well. Please let me know what you all think!

Thank you :)
One semester of not so good grades won’t kill your chances but make sure to do well from here on out. What’s your gpa?

If you do well in your senior year, it should be fine. No huge difference between a 3.7 and a 3.5, and then you had one semester that was bad. Total GPA will matter much more as long as you do well in your final year.

Just make sure you take enough time to study for the MCAT.
