I recently decided I'd like to go to Med School after changing my mind about it in undergrad. I will be able to apply next cycle but am worried about getting a physician letter due to COVID and not being able to shadow right now or for the foreseeable future. While I do have shadowing hours, I don't feel comfortable asking them because it was quite a while ago. If I'm working for a professor during grad school who is an MD, would this count as a physician letter?

My instinct is yes. A MD letter from a professor will check off the box. Which means your application will be assessed. However, the adcoms really want to read an MD's testimony of his/her work experience with you.

@Goro can confirm?
