Would ichthyology or herpetology count towards bpcm gpa?

I have taken an ichthylology course which is the study of fish, and we learned about habitats, behavior, diversity and such (of fish), and I plan to take herpetology in the future which is studying similar material about reptiles. They are both in the biology department but since they are not classes like physiology or microbiology, would these still count for bpcm? Also does bpcm gpa = science gpa?

Thanks a lot!
