I'm mostly betting on DO schools this round, and I realize it's fairly late, but I figure I might as well throw a hail mary or two at the allopathic schools.
I have fairly meh academic stats - 3.5 cGPA, 509 MCAT. Only saving grace is that if you actually look at my grades you'll see I have mostly A's in the upper div classes and B's/C's in the lower div classes, though I imagine that's of little care to most schools.
I do have pretty good EC's. A solid decade of volunteering at one medically-related non-profit, probably ~150 hours between a few others. Nontrad with 5+ years of working in healthcare (business, not patient care related). ~100 hours of physician shadowing, some research, few other small/unique things.
I'm from the Midwest and don't really have many ties elsewhere. Here is where I'm currently planning applying:
U of MN - duluth and TC (state schools)
Med College of WI
Carver IA
Creighton
Toledo
Univ of ND
Ideally I'd like to apply to ~10 or so, whichever ones I have any sort of a realistic shot at. Any others you guys would recommend?
Thanks a lot
