Would you sell your soul to the Devil in order to achieve your dreams(get into a top notch med school, land in the most competitive and highly paying specialty and live the life you always dreamt off as a doctor), but you would have to spend all eternity in hell after you die!
Would you do it? if yes then why? and if no then why?

P.S. guys plz try to answer honestly, dont bust my balls for making this thread, i just wanted to see how people would respond to this scenario?

40-ish years of your "dream" career in exchange for eternal torment...

Really, dude?

Yes. But that's because I'm a complete athiest and will end up in the hell you speak of anyways so why not make the best of it.

If I believed in a soul, then no. The value's of each don't even begin to equal each other.

Neither one of those two things that you mentioned exist. There's nothing to sell nor is there anyone to sell too. 😉

well i know everybody have their own beliefs, but i am saying what if either of those two things existed hypothetically(if that makes u feel better) would you sell your soul?

I already have a room reserved. Do I still qualify?

I believe in God and stuff and also Heaven and Hell concept:

and I will DEFINITELY do it because anyways, I am going to hell. My actions are not worthy of heaven even if I make the deal or not !

Won't Jesus just swoop down in his cape and save me either way?

I think this was a Simpsons episode...

I think there was also a Treehouse of Horror episode where Homer sold his soul to Satan (played by Flanders, ha!).

I'd do it. I'm an atheist. Who cares?

Would I sell mine? No. But you posting the thread leads me to believe you would. And I also belive the devil is pretty giving. So, just demand he hook the rest of us up in exchange for your soul---you're gonna do it anyways.

Only one ball? I can't help but bust it....

No...but how about selling someone else's soul. Can I do that?!

j/k j/k... But no.

OK Lance Armstrong.

My dreams include immortality, so yea sure, where do i sign?

I'm with Geeks on this one.

If I believed in eternal damnation (I'm not certain that I do), it wouldn't be worth it. It's not even hypothetically worth it.

It seemed like you wanted to make an insult, but I think this clip from Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story effectively communicates your failure (if you're in a hurry, skip to 53 seconds):

😛

He still only has one ball...?

What does this say about you as a person? You have given the possession of your soul to the Devil! would you be able to live happily after doing something like that?

In a heart beat.

I'd rather be in hell than in heaven with my MiL, SiL and the Mormons.

I wouldn't sell my soul. Never did it. Because hell does exist and you don't even have to die to experience it. And yes - you go to hell already before dying when you sell your soul. There is no way back and you will regret it for an eternity.

So you want to be a dentist eh?

Is this a joke?

If I could sell my soul for anything, I sure as hell wouldn't become a doctor. I'd use it to become a rock star, or a writer, or immortal, or all of the above.

If I had one, I already sold it to science.

But seriously.. Sell my soul to be a doctor? I'd rather earn it myself.

Actually that is quite clever and sounds like the making for some sort of bible passage-fairytaile-devil went down to georgia hybrid: If you could trick the devil into accepting that then he would have your soul when you die, but [by being immortal] you likely wouldn't die, thus preventing him from collecting his payment (i.e. your soul). 😛

I'd sell my soul to become a genius and find a way to gain immortality and spend all of eternity curing dieseases and bringing advancements to the universe.

I'd rather fail at my dream, knowing that I at least put in a lifetime's honest effort than sell my soul. Besides only ******* who are so insecure with themselves would even consider such a thing since they know they fail at life anyways.

This question really amounts to asking how religiously convicted you are. I wouldn't sell my soul just for a few good career breaks.

Until something cataclysmic happened to the earth at which point your body would be decimated and your immortality would become null and void!

I would sell my soul, use the capital to buy other peoples' souls, fix 'em up, then flip 'em. You could make some good money doing that...

No... You would continue to exist. One would observe speciation all over again, or if the entire earth was blown to smithereens(e.g. giant asteroid) you would just float forever in space until landing somewhere. Worst case is likely encountering a black hole and spending the rest of forever cramped in a gravitational singularity. The body's death [or "decimation"] would conflict with the whole, you know, "immortal" thing (we aren't referring to the concept of souls - as their respective immortality is already assumed as a function of the underlying discussion (i.e. Satan walking around the university libraries making deals with pre-meds et al.)).

This is all under the presumption that the devil doesn't stick some little addendum about you having a weakness on your body which would render your body capable of dying (analogous to Achilles and his bothersome heel).

lol @ all the ppl willing to sell their soul, then single payer hits and their dream of being a doctor immediately starts sucking. now that would be ironic, wouldn't it?
