Anyone heard anything from Wright State? When checking the interview/acceptance thread, there's not many listed here? Are they behind other schools in asking for interviews and giving acceptances?

I heard from them 2 weeks ago, after being complete for over 2 months. They finally offered me an interview by phone, it took them forever to do it though! I think they are just super slow.

Hey freakedout, no probs, I'd be pissed too. I think maybe there was a recent cancellation because I got offered Nov 2nd the 8:30 slot. I took it, then the next day realized that day sucked for me...So I called to change and they said they didn't have anything until after Christmas!!

They called me...on I think it was 10/20 for an interview on 11/16. Woo! 🙂

I wouldn't mind hearing about your MUO interview either....I have one on Nov 10. I have read the interview reviews on it, but am still interested in what you thought!

I loved my MUO interview day. It was pretty low stress. You get there early and meet in a conference room where two guys, one of whom is named Dr. Burns (asst dean...SOOO nice) talk about the school and fin aid a little bit. It's not very long at all. You have two interviews, one before and one after lunch typically. You do have to find them yourselfs but everyone is so helpful and gives you directions so it's fine. My first one was with a PhD and he wasn't super warm...They were supposed to go 45 minutes and it only took 20 minutes. The only real hard questions at all was "Name an issue in medicine...Ok, name another...Ok, name another." Everything is open file, so lots of "Oh you didn't do so well in chemistry", etc. Then you eat lunch back in the same room which wasn't the best lunch I've seen but whatever. 🙂 A student or two comes and eats with you, then they take you on a tour. The faciliites are not bad at all, the whole campus is wooded which is nice. I mean it isn't super picturesque but definately fine. The classrooms seemed nice and everything is connected by glass tunnels which would be great in the winter. Then you have your 2nd interview...mine was w/ Dr. Burns and it was great. I felt like I really did well there, and we went past the 45 minutes. It was very relaxed, conversational, get to know you type questions. Then you're free to go.

The match list is nice, the tuition is cheap the people do seem genuinly nice. The University Hospital is a level one trauma center, it sees alot in NW Ohio and it seems very nice. Even though my family lives close, I stayed at the Toledo Hilton which is RIGHT on campus and it was great and inexpensive, for a Hilton at least when you mention your interviewing. The fitness center was a little old looking but spacious, and you get to use the Hilton's indoor pool sauna and hot tub as a student.

As of now MUO is my top choice, I'm excited to compare it to Wright State this week. Toledo is definately not my favorite city but whatever...It's 3 years if you choose to out-rotate 4th year which is easy to do.

this might be dumb... what did you have for lunch... I am just wondering cuz I am a picky eater... so do I get time to go out to eat...or would it make a bad impression?

lol no it was fine it just wasn't the BEST lunch i've had on the interview trail. like little pre wrapped subs i think on croissants maybe...there were turkey and ham i think to choose from...chips and cans of pop.

i don't know if i'd leave during it because the students are in there then chit chatting w/ you and then when everyone's done you take off for the tour.

So to those of you getting interviews to Wright State and Medical University of Ohio, what are your stats and when did you take the MCATS and have completed files? I took the August MCAT and within a week had interviews scheduled at OSU and Cincinnati. It sounds like I'm going to be REAL late interviewing these schools (if they offer........)

3.5cum, 3.35sci, 30RMCAT (12 BS, 10VR, 8 PS), ecs are helping me out a ton...everything was in ASAP, complete AMCAS 6/29 and sent secondaries in quick...i dont see my mdapps link in my sig but it should be there!!

if you're good at OSU and Cinci you'll be good at WSU and MCO.
