Writing an LOR Advice

[OGMD]

So I'm applying for some medical school scholarships my undergrad school gives to Alumni, and they want an LOR that IS NOT part of my medical application. My professor told me to write it myself and he'll sign and throw it on appropriate letter head.

SO...obviously, I've never written an LOR before and have no idea what constitutes a good/bad one or what topics I should even cover.

Anyone have suggestions?
