I can paste my essay into the AMCAS window fine - everything fits. It says I have 5294 characters.
Then when I go to finish and the look at the essay again, my last line is cut off and it shows 5186 characters....
WHAt's the deal!!!!!!

this happened to a friend of mine, and some other people on here have mentioned it too. rather than call amcas and wait who knows how long to get it straightened out he just edited his essay down to whatever it was cutting off at (like 5164 i think). Yeah it sucks, but at this point, he just wanted to get it submitted and didnt want any more delays. Sorry, thats all the advice i've got.

did you finally work it out?

Paste it from WORD into WORDPAD. then paste it from WORDPAD to the AMCAS. That seems to help others.

have you tried cutting and pasting only the first part, then manually typing in the last line(s)?

    jot

mine did the exact same thing - and it spontaneously fixed itself after a couple days .... not quite helpful, but there is noting else you can do.
