Shoot! Just checked out Yale fin aid info and they recommend you send in materials by 3/1. Oops! Has anyone else flaked on this?

I actually just had an interview at Yale yesterday and Richard Silverman said that only 2 out of the class of 106 turned their financial aid information in on time last year. So, its not that big a deal, but you should still turn it in as soon as possible so that you know what your financial aid package will be.

Thanks Chi-Chi - that makes me feel better. Anyway, the scare has motivated me to get the finaid stuff figured out for all my schools. How sad would it be to not get to go to a school because you slacked on your finaid app?

Good luck with Yale - did you like it? I have a friend there who has been very happy. What a great, low-stress approach to learning!

Hallie: Actually, it's good that you "delayed" your application. I turned in everything (taxreturns/needaccess/fafsa) by the 20th of February. I called them up and they told me they haven't started filing 2001-02 applications yet. So chances are that they lost my stuff. So I will be re-sending them soon. Good luck on Yale!!!!

You know, that makes me think of another question. I remember friends who applied in previous years made their decision after they knew what kind of $ aid they would get from each school. It seems like it will be at least a few months before we know that information - which is about the same time we'll have to put down those dreaded "non-refundable deposits" to hold a position. I was hoping to avoid making that deposit to more than one school....

Hallie- To respond to your question about my interview, I liked YALE alot. I was really impressed with the flexibility of the program and all of the students were very happy with their education. During my interview day I was told that Yale will mail out its acceptances on the 23rd or 24th of March. Good Luck.
