I was wondering what the other people on here thought about this... My application has been complete for a while now, and still nothing. It looks like they're almost finished offering invites (someone said they only had two dates to choose from, and one of them was the last day they wanted to interview).

So, is it time to give up? I'm leaning towards a yes right now...

Brandonite-
One of my friends got a Yale invite about a week ago and scheduled for March 5 (though he got his app in on the last day). They're still sending them out, but do seem to be winding down. I wouldn't give up quite yet. . . Good luck!

dude. i want you to close your eyes. we are in a messed up blue convertable with the top down in front of the grand canyon. harvey keitel is behind us screaming. we hug. "i love you thelma" "i love you choker-i mean louise."

you floor it...

Ha. That's awesome, Choker. I'm trying to decide whether I'd want to be Geena Davis or Susan Sarandon...

Anyway, I just noticed on the 'rejections' list, that Yale hasn't sent out any rejections yet. So, that's probably bad news. They probably have rejection letters for you and I both ready to go... :(

alphacentauri - My app has been complete for too long now - people with completion days after mine have been getting interviews since mid-December. So, I'm giving up hope...

Yes, unfortunately, it's time to give up. We are through. I guess it's still possible that they might not be done sending invites, but come on, at some point we just have to accept it. Sorry - if it's any consolation, you are not alone. I like to think of myself as a decent applicant, and yet no love from New Haven. Screw it. :)

I agree, that it is time to give up on Yale (application complete since early November). I had made up my mind that I probably did not want to go there when I saw that on several places on their website they used to have pictures of president Clinton long after he was out of office...

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep the faith Brandonite! I need all the encouragement and support that I can get. C'mon Yale, where are you??

I called the ad office today morning and was told that ALL the final decisions will be sent out at the end of March and that they will be interviewing thru the end of Feb/early March. SO, there's still hope!! Hope this info relieves some of yar anxiety.

Well, I think it's safe to say that they passed us by, patiently waiting... Maybe your case is different, but I've watched piles of people who were complete after me get interviews already. And, from another post on another thread, they're scheduling interviews for March 1st, which that poster suggested would be the last day (see the 'last day schools are interviewing thread').

It may hurt, but it's just time to let it go... :D

I mean, who really wanted to live in New Haven anyway? All that crime, and I've heard it's pretty depressing...

Fine - it'll be Yale for residency then :)

Arrrrggghhhh!

Arrrrggghhhh!•••••That's right! We'll just wait a few years... :D

It's nice to know I'm not the only person being ignored by Yale. We could form some kind of club...

on three, ready?

one...
two...
three...

**** YALE!!!!!

handsome dan can kiss my handsome ass.

-ahhhh, cathartic.

I honestly don't give a F%#* about Yale anymore. If they don't want us, I don't see why we should worry about them. While we're at it: F%#* Harvard, Penn, and Hopkins too! Seriously though, I am not bitter about any of it...I am happy with where I got interviews/accepted...I only wish that the schools mentioned schools would hurry up and send me my rejection letter.

Arrrrggghhhh!•••••Dude,
I have Hawaii down for residency...60 hrs+ on beach (of course I will use sunblock lotions religiously) and 30+ by bedside. The island has one of the highest longevity rates on earth. hmm, keep dreaming patiently... oh yeah, specialized in radiology oncology specifically on skin cancer.

Dammit I got rejected from Yale undergrad, how many more rejections can I take from them?!

Brandonite I second the motion to implement a support club. Patientywaiting Hawaii is sounding good, but New Haven is calling my name. And, Choker and Jargon, I'm not ready to purge Yale from my soul - not just yet. I really truly empathize with Yale's struggle - They want me - I can feel it, but right now they're just wrestling with the notion of how they are going to lure me away from Harvard's acceptance, so that's why they're taking their time. They've devising a scheme of how they can win me over - probably with a full ride or something. I'll keep you guys posted.

I'm gonna keep fighting the cause and dreaming the dream. C'mon chant after me...

Well, I want to hope. I really do. Because despite having to live in New Haven, the school seems really great. But eventually, the time comes when ya just have to let go... :D

I was about to apply to Hawaii, but I found out that stupid residency requirement.

Anyway, what we know right now about Yale:

1. They are going to stop interviewing at the end of this month.

2. They are sending out invites as recently as a week ago scheduling people for the last couple of days of interviews.

3. They have not sent out any rejections yet, either before or after interviews, so they could have rejected all of us months ago, and we wouldn't know.

4. People with apps completed well after ours have heard from them about interviews.

So, unless my application is stuck under somebody's shoe, or one of the above is wrong, then I think it might be time to give up hope...

It's the sad sad truth.

I feel the need to insert a gratuitous smiley for vengeance.

Thanks Vkrn,

You just boosted my morale ten folds with the "we are sending invites until march 8" I feel soo much better =)

:(•••••Not sure if you were serious about applying to Hawaii. But I do know some BC resident graduated from UBC and got into Hawaii.

Well, I looked at Hawaii. Seriously. But their website seemed to indicate that like 40% of your final score was based on some tie to the island. And I can't even afford to visit, let alone have some tie to the place.

Sigh. Some dreams die young... :D
