So I decided to take a year off of medical school after my 3rd year and move to New Zealand. Its been an amazing time. I have been working as a gymnastics coach and traveled all around both islands (yep seen many of the places they filmed lord of the rings, the last saumari & Narnia not to mention Peter Jackson's early works Heavenly Creatures and The Frighteners). I do have to admit I'm a bit nervous about heading back this summer to finish up. just kinda worried about how much I'll have forgotten. wondering if anyone else had taken time off and if they had any tips for staying fresh &or making the transition back

cheers

if you make arevision you will not forgrt!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also travelled to New Zealand before starting medical school this fall. I can honestly say that I took just the basic requirements needed to get into medical school....and...yeah, there are *quite* a few people who know way more than me. It just means that I have to work harder to learn everything from scratch. But you know what? I could have taken that year and taken science classes, but I wouldn't change a thing knowing what I know now. My travels were the best thing I could have done and it's the chance of a lifetime. Don't worry, you will be fine. If you have learned this stuff before, it comes back easier.
