Maybe you should call lecom and tell them you are declining your acceptance. This may be the nicest thing to do so that another can have the seat that you no longer will be taking. Congrats on getting in to your top choice school!!

Regarding LECOM, you should email the director of admissions, thank him/her for the honor to be accepted and say that you've been accepted to your top choice (just to be in good terms with them just in case and give someone else a chance at your seat) 👍

from what i've heard..the scrubs can be any color...the student that took my interview group on the tour was wearing bright pink scrubs...and she said that one of her classmates sometimes wore camouflaged scrubs..as for shoes ...suppposedly tennis shoes are not allowed but everyone wears them..i think im going to wear tennis shoes for now..and if they specify differently during orientation i'll just buy them in florida...one less thing to pack i guess

EDIT: FYI the color of the osteo school scrubs are blue...and the school will send out order forms where you can order through them..they have the NSU and DO logo on them too if u are interested in that

Congratulations!! If I were you, i'd send them a letter in writing thanking them for the oppurunity and how you enjoyed your visit there, but you will be respectfull declining their offer. It's always good to be polite and professional, because its a small world out there!!

PS- I apologize if you find this offensive or innapropriate, but would you mind telling us ur stats, I'm trying to get an idea what NSU is looking for.

Well, LEcom-b is strictly PBL. also, it's in bradenton.
NSU has a more established program in my opinion, more opportunities for clinical rotations (LECOM-B still doesn't have too many associated hospitals from what I understood) . Also, i live down here in south florida with my family and husband and would love to stay here. That's why i chose NSU 🙂 so happy!

ALso, LECOM-B does not take the Health service corps scholarship because it's a new school or something.

AP scores? That's interesting... I didn't have to submit those. AP as in advanced placement scores from high school - or is it something else? You could probably have your college send those in for you but I'm not sure. You may want to call NSU and ask them. Linda Ferris is pretty helpful - she or Delia Celeste or probably the best people to ask. And congrats by the way for your acceptance - I look forward to seeing you in class in the fall!

i hope they arent actually expecting AP transcripts.. those are from like five years back haha. anyways, i heard from another schools admissions office that an official transcript will satisfy that requirement as long as your transcript clearly delineates the credit youve received (towards your college) from the AP exams

Im from OK so Ill be new in the area and I think it would be nice to meet people before orientation. Im moving down to Ft. Lauderdale July 1st to get my partying out and get more acclemated to the city.

Do any of you know anyone currently at NSU and if so how do they like it? How do they deal with the CONSTANT studying with a test every week. It seems like there is no break. I have spoken with a few administrators there and a director for rotations and every one of them was very rude to me. They just cut me off and wasn't really interested in what I was saying. Is this the case for most of the staff. I have been hearing that the staff is, for the most part, unresponsive to student concerns or requests. Can anyone out there please help? I'm a little nervous. Thanks

I was told they are changing to a required color for DO students. Royal blue. Looks like I'll have to get all new scrubs 🙁 . But who cares I like the school.
