Cerb, hang in there man, you've got the summer, focus hard and do well in August, I believe in you. More importantly, Ben believes in you.

didn't you say you got a 29? that's like 75 percentile or something, right? i would say you're guaranteed an acceptance with that.

i got a 30, and i was like i could have done better if i studied more and maybe i should retake it, and then i thought, are you crazy laura?!? you're pretty much guaranteed at least one acceptance somewhere. why do that to yourself? i already ruined the month of april. i don't want to also ruin my summer! and what if i have a bad day and do even worse?

if you do decide to retake it, good luck! just know that you don't really need to cause you already did really well and retaking it just to prove to yourself that you can do better is a little masochistic.

when i took the ACT i got a 33, and i wanted to retake it cause on the one practice test i took i got a 34. then my high school counselor told me i got the highest score of anyone that took it at the same location as i did that day. and i thought, are you insane, laura?!?! and that was just the ACT - a test you don't actually study for. retaking the MCAT is a huge time commitment.

anyway, sorry about the long post. i'm in quite the rambling mood tonight.

laura 🙂

'GUARANTEED' an acceptance. that is a truly *****ic thing to say. nothing "GUARANTEES' and acceptance. what is wrong with you?

you need to think to yourself more.

i have a friend who got a 28 or 29 on the mcat (not sure what her writing score was) and she got into NYU, Einstein, and NYCOM. she's heading to NYU in the fall. so relax. what happens happens for a reason.

Just curious, Cerb... I can fill in the first set of ***s, but what does the second set stand for?

I wouldn't retake if I were you.

I would venture a guess that it is the same four letter word that fills in both ****s. As for the OP, if you are really not satisfied with your score and you know you could do better take the august MCAT. Meanwhile apply with your current score and send in your new score from the August MCAT when it becomes available.

dont' be so hard on yourself cerb! just keep truckin. you can do it hang in there. I know it's easier said than done but I have practiced this and it works. everyone gets all worked up on the numbers but forget that you also have to possess qualities that would count for more than numbers sometimes. so with that said , don't count yourself out just yet!!! 👍
