The funny thing is that some of the nurses think that we work shifts. One of them asked me if I was working the "night shift" and she seemed sore amazed when I said our call "shifts" were thirty hours long.

I get that all the time...sometimes that's why you get paged for silly reasons at night.

I took it as a joke and I am not offended in the slightest. The funny thing is that some of the nurses think that we work shifts. One of them asked me if I was working the "night shift" and she seemed sore amazed when I said our call "shifts" were thirty hours long.

Good. It's hard to tell "tone of voice" in text. It seems that people--even nurses and other healthcare people--think that we either work shifts or like 48 hours at a time. I find laypeople tend to think we were a LOT longer than we actually do. I'm not too sure what that means yet...lol.
