Major: Theatre
Minor: Psychology
Medical School 1st Choice: Before I actually applied, it was Jeff or Penn. Penn rejected me, but it's all good, because I interviewed at the three other MD schools in Philadelphia and I fell in LOVE with Temple.
Financial Status: Full Scholarship would have been lovely, but I got nearly half tuition and I am THRILLED with that. :D

Speciality: Ob/Gyn at any of the busy maternity wards in the area, but someplace downtown like HUP or Pennsylvania hospital would be great because...
Fellowship: Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Penn has the only REI fellowship in Philadelphia anymore, hence the hopes for residency.
OR
Fellowship: Maternal-Fetal Medicine, either Jeff or HUP.

Other top idea.
Specialty: Pediatrics
Fellowship: Neonatology
Both at CHOP.

I'm happy with my undergrad... So I'll pick up at med school:

4 year scholarship to stanford.

Move on and become a neurosurgeon.
I only work 40 hours a week -- because I'm that good.
I still make >$350,000 salary.
I get the privilege to say "It's not like it's brain surgery to everyone I meet."

I know this is supposed to be an "LOL" thread but it amazes me the number of people who want to go into surgery and/or neurosurgery.
Several friends of mine have already changed from surgery into peds/IM.
Only person I know who did Neurosurgery went into medical school wanting to do Peds... talk about a change of heart...

Chances are that most people who say they want to do surgery will realize that they want to have a life more.
