I did a hepatitis panel at my PCPs office and the results were:
Hep B c: positive
Hep Bs: negative
anti Hep Bs: negative
I have been immunized (last time in 2011)
NO high risk behavior - except a few needle sticks (do not remember the patients status)
My doctor wants to do a viral load as he says it means past infection.
Qn:
1. I just started fellowship and blood draw was done just last year - don't they normally check this? I left a message with my occupational medication to see but no call back.
2. Why isn't anti hep B positive since I have been immunized?
3. Is this a possible false positive
4. Anything else I need to do immediately?
Sorry but I have just been a mess and I have not been able to get a hold of my PCP (his nurse called me and I really went blank when I heard positive hep c core positive). NO SLEEP AND WORRIED
