Low verbal mean score.

Since the 2004 Aug. MCAT statistics were released, I though I'd have a look at them.. then realized that the mean score for verbal was 7.8!!!!! Thats super low... plus all scores seem to be lower this year...and the failing percentages seem to be higher.... no wonder so many people got a 6 in verbal (approx 30.5%ile). Last year a 30.5 was approx. a 7.....

speaking of verbal....now i highly think that the drake pirate passage was a experimental one b/c i got a 10 in VR (still amazed) and i remeber guessing like crazy on that one passage!!! who else thinks this.....🙂

Definitely AGREE! That passage was horrible, and I got a 12 verbal. If that was graded, I would've gotten WAY WAY lower
 
Yes, that **** with the pirates totally threw me off. I completely lost focus and had an internal meltdown- basically almost re-read the passage for each question, and didn't have enough time at the end. I ended up with a 10 on verbal when I thought it would be my strongest section. I'm not complaining about the score- but just some advice to others- don't lose focus and have a meltdown during the exam.
