That doesn't really apply to medical students since most of us want to be attendings and most of us will become attendings.

Proved my point within ten minutes of posting. Like I said they wouldn't get it.
oh there were days when it seemed my sole ambition was to sleep straight for at least 6 hours. i think it was also mentioned before how you know you're a resident when the prospect of regular weekend feels GOLDEN, hence the name. it's a mad love for this field that drives us!
I wish that comic wasn't true of me. I sure came in all fired up. These days, the joke isn't even funny. I actually heard myself say, "I hate my job" the other day. I can't believe it. 🙁
I say that all the time. I don't think you're alone, but I think I've been so miserbale all year because
A. Intern year just blows
and
B. It really blows if you are stuck doing something you don't like (or actually hate...) because it's required (a.k.a. I'm doing a prelim in IM before I get to do my 3 yrs of anesthesiology)
I will appreciate anesthesiology so much when I think about the awful nights in the ED admitting my 8th cocaine positive patient with chest pain
