Does anyone know whether you can get a Government of Canada Student Loan to study in a US Dental School? And if not, how are you financing your degree if you don't mind my asking?

Thanks!

Verify with your provincial lender (e.g. BCSL or OSAP) if the school is accredited with them. If they are then you most likely can get a Canada student loan since it is the province that manages the loans.

Right, thanks! 🙂

is a "canada student loan" different from OSAP?

Well you apply through the same agency and I believe the province manages the federal student loans for the federal government and they also chip in for a part of it. I think....

Yes microserf123 is right, I managed to find out the info on the provincial studentaid website...basically, to make it easier for us students, the federal and provincial governments (at least for NB) have integrated the existing federal and provincial student loans programs. So if I understand correctly, the amount you get is the sum total of your federal and your provincial loan amounts. Also, while repaying, we're doing only one payment plan instead two separate ones. 🙂

Royal bank will also lend you up to $150k in addition to provincial and Canada loans,

TD has one also at a better interest rate

definitely am not canadian, then how can i help u???
