OMS Internship Position, UT San Antonio

The UT San Antonio Deptartment of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery is offering a one year internship, starting July 1, 2009. Expectations of our non-categorical interns mirror those of our matriculated interns. In addition to clinical/operative duties, interns will take first call and participate in dentofacial deformity conferences, trauma conferences, and weekly academics. Interns will be exposed to a broad scope of OMS at a busy level 1 trauma center. This position is fully funded.

Is it true that San Antonio is a sinking ship? I heard that the program is losing 2 faculty members. The rumor has it that the residents ganged against the PD/Chair and other faculty. Does anyone want to go there?

Some of the posts read that the chief residents at San Antonio asked the applicants to rank their program as the last option! Now there is a post for intern positions. What is going on? Can someone provide more info?
