$20 for Robbins as a sound tester? No thanks. You can get an electronic version of Robbins for free through MDconsult (if your school has a subscription---which it should) or via robbinspathology.com if you own a hard copy of the book. You can then use a free text-speech program like Speakonia to read the book to you aloud. This method is really helpful when you're getting burned out on reading. Also, since the speaking is at a constant rate, you can pace your reading of the text.

Given that this website has no finished products and yet you (with only one post) are advertising it, I'm calling spam on this post.

Default Wow! Aggressive arn't you? :-)

I am aware you can get the elctronic robbins. I think most people are. And yes I am aware that you can use any number of text to speach programs to listen to the text. Again, I think most people are. For me those programs never work that well. Anyway, I didn't think I would get hit like this after making a post. The thread seemed to be asking for sites that could help medical students. I thought this site could help. (www.studybyear.com) They translate medical textbooks to an audio file with an actual person reading them. Your right, the site was under construction when I made that post, but now they have a lot more up. (The site is ran by medical students) Clearly, I was not trying to spam anyone. I think you were a little quick on the trigger... Its ok.

I've put together an offsite conglomeration of these links. I've added a function that will allow users to search through their choice of databases to find the proper article to suite their needs. A screen shot of the new page:

Link for the new page. You can also do a "right-click... save as" if you want to keep this page on your own hard drive so you won't have to keep coming back.

Default pimpnotes.org --free open-source pathophysiology guide

http://www.pimpnotes.org

the grids = http://www.pimpnotes.org/?page=grids

download the grids, bugs, and pharm

i just published open-source med notes that puts in much better order key material for the boards. pathology (all of it! 120+ pages), bugs charts, and pharm charts, all in a grid format that allows for much easier comparing and contrasting. all the material has been thoroughly checked against major resources like brs, q bank, baby robbins, and first aid for consistency.

it's a great resource because it presents the same information as all these other sources, but in a format that makes it much easier to compare/contrast and see the big picture beyond all the details.

Your question is inappropriate for this thread. I see from your other posts that you've been looking for someone to tell you how to learn the subjects you listed. Since you're claiming to be a 2nd year medical student, you should be aware of the most popular books for the basic sciences. Purchase Robbins, Moore, Katzung, and the Lippincott series and read through them religiously to master the material. While the websites listed on this page are useful supplements for learning, they do not replace reading textbooks.
